Hi, I’m Cody! I’m available to work with teens, adults, and couples. I’m here to meet you where you are and help you find your way to somewhere better.
Have you lost someone and found that the grief is heavier than you expected, lasting longer than everyone around you seems to think it should? Maybe you’re feeling the pressure to push through, to be strong, to keep it together for the people counting on you. But underneath all of that, you’re exhausted.
Or maybe it’s your relationship that’s struggling. The distance between you and your partner keeps growing, no matter what you try, and the conversations that are supposed to help somehow always end somewhere neither of you wanted to go.
Either way, you may be quietly wondering if you’re handling this the right way, tired of feeling like you should be able to figure it out on your own, but not quite sure how to ask for something different.
You don’t have to have it all sorted out before you reach out. Together, we’ll create a space where you can set down what you’ve been carrying, without judgment, and start uncovering the perspectives, strengths, and tools that will help you move forward.
How I Can Help You
When you work with me, the first thing I want you to experience is that you don’t have to filter yourself here. Whatever you bring into this space is met with curiosity, not judgment. You can say the thing you haven’t been able to say out loud yet, and we’ll start there.
A lot of what makes pain so exhausting is not fully understanding what’s actually going on inside. Part of our work together is untangling what feels confusing or overwhelming so it starts to make sense, to you, in your own words, on your own terms.
And because life doesn’t pause while you’re in therapy, I make sure you leave sessions with practical tools you can actually use in the moment, not just insights that stay in the room.
Whether you’re in the middle of a hard conversation with your partner or navigating a wave of grief on a Tuesday afternoon, you’ll have something to reach for.
We’ll also look beneath the surface. What’s showing up in your relationships, your grief, or your day-to-day life is usually connected to something deeper: patterns, history, and beliefs that have been quietly running the show. Using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with evidence-based grief strategies, we’ll get underneath what’s driving the struggle so the changes you make actually stick.

What I Love About Being a Therapist
What I love most is getting to walk with people through the full range of life, the hardest moments and the hopeful ones, and watching them arrive somewhere they genuinely want to be.
There is something meaningful about showing up for someone in a season when they feel like no one else is, and being a consistent, caring presence in that space.
I love that therapy creates time and room for people to slow down and actually discover who they are beneath all the noise. So much of life moves fast and asks us to perform. This is a place where that pressure lifts and something more honest can emerge.
And at the heart of it all, I just genuinely care about people. Not where I think they should be or where the process says they ought to go, but where they actually are right now and where they truly want to go. Listening well and honoring that is something I take seriously every single session.
How I See Myself as a Therapist
I see myself as someone who journeys alongside you through whatever life brings, not someone who sits across from you with a clipboard and a plan. This is your process, and I take that seriously. You set the direction and the pace, and I follow your lead.
Before anything else, I listen. Really listen. Not to diagnose or fix, but to understand. I want to know where you are and what you’re carrying before we figure out where to go next.
I show up with genuine compassion for wherever you are in your story, and I work hard to make sure this feels like a space where nothing you bring will be met with judgment. At the same time, I am lovingly direct. If something important needs to be said, I will find a caring way to say it, because real growth sometimes needs a gentle push in the right direction.
What Makes Me Unique as a Therapist?
One thing that sets me apart is my specialized focus on grief. Through dedicated training and years of experience walking alongside people in loss, I bring both skill and genuine understanding to one of the hardest things a person can go through. Grief is not a problem to be solved on a timeline, and I know how to hold that well.
I also bring a wide range of experience across different settings and populations, which means I have worked with people in all kinds of circumstances and seasons of life. That breadth shapes how I see people and how I adapt to what each individual actually needs.
My approach draws from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused therapy. Together, these give us a practical, flexible framework for understanding where you are, building on your existing strengths, and moving toward real, lasting change.
Education and Professional Background
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Denver Seminary and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado.
My experience spans a wide range of settings, from the halls of Children’s Hospital and the classrooms of Douglas County School District and Littleton Public Schools, to the fields of athletic competition and the quiet, hard work of private practice. I’m also a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist and trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
What My Clients Say
Clients have described me as someone who shows up with genuine love and compassion, even in the darkest seasons of life. One couple shared that I walked them through the hardest time they had ever faced and that they came out the other side as better people and a stronger partnership.
Other clients talk about the kind of space I create, one where they can show up exactly as they are, no filter required, and feel completely seen and heard. For those carrying pain that feels isolating, I’ve been told I offer something rare: a real connection with someone who truly understands what they are going through, along with the practical tools to keep moving forward.
Hobbies & Fun Facts
I have a deep love for the outdoors and a growing fascination with trees and the natural world that often finds its way into my woodworking projects.
At the center of it all, I’m a husband and a dad, and those roles shape everything about how I show up in the world.
I’m a learner at heart—books, podcasts, anything that helps me understand people better. And that curiosity is a big part of what I bring into every session.
