Therapy Specialties:

Hi, I’m Alan! I’m available to work with teens, couples, parents, families, and adults. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing, resilience, and a more fulfilling future. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

Do you ever feel like your mind just won’t stop? Maybe it’s the constant worry, the racing thoughts, or those nagging intrusive ideas that seem to come out of nowhere. Or perhaps it’s the emotional weight — feeling overwhelmed, uncertain about the future, or even numb, as if life is happening around you but not with you.

Families navigating complex life challenges often face overwhelming stress, uncertainty, and fractured communication, which can leave them feeling isolated and misunderstood. Whether it’s managing a child’s involvement in the juvenile justice system, adjusting to a recent divorce, or supporting family members in high-pressure careers like healthcare and first response, these situations can strain relationships, create emotional distance, and leave loved ones unsure of how to move forward.

But it doesn’t have to stay this way. I’m here to help you and your family untangle these challenges, improve communication, and build resilience. My goal is to guide you toward understanding, connection, and practical solutions so you can heal and grow together despite the difficulties you’re facing.

How I Can Help You

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with family dynamics, or facing a major life transition, I provide a compassionate, supportive space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered.

My counseling approach is holistic, blending proven methods to help you manage stress, heal from trauma, and strengthen relationships.

I also specialize in helping caregivers and professionals overcome burnout and compassion fatigue by offering tools to restore balance and reconnect with a sense of purpose. For families navigating the juvenile justice system, I create a safe environment to rebuild trust, deepen connections, and work through difficult emotions.

What I Love About Being a Therapist

What I love most about being a therapist is the opportunity to genuinely care for my clients’ well-being and walk alongside them through life’s most difficult times. While I don’t share my personal story in session, I draw deeply from my own lived experience of navigating incredibly challenging situations. This allows me to hold hope for my clients, even when they may not feel it themselves.

I firmly believe in the possibility of healing and growth through adversity. Ex adversis virtus cresci t — from adversity, grows strength.

It’s a privilege to witness my clients discover their resilience, overcome their struggles, and move toward a place of greater peace and connection.

How I See Myself as a Therapist

As a therapist, I see myself as someone who creates a safe, welcoming space where clients feel accepted and understood. I’ve been told that sitting with me is like sitting with Mr. Rogers. My warm presence helps clients feel at ease allowing them to open up without fear of judgement.

I approach my work with genuine care, putting my best effort into everything I do while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. I believe that meaningful change happens through connection, and I deeply value the trust clients place in me. My goal is to meet clients where they are, helping them explore their experiences while finding inner strength and resilience.

I believe every person’s story matters. I endeavor to create an environment where clients are free to be themselves, knowing they will be heard, supported, and guided with compassion and respect.

What Makes Me Unique as a Therapist?

I specialize in supporting families in crisis, particularly those navigating the juvenile justice system, and work closely with parents, first responders, and healthcare workers. My wife, a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience, has given me unique insight into the demands and emotional toll of the healthcare profession, allowing me to better understand and support individuals in similar roles.

I also offer guidance to individuals experiencing significant life transitions, such as recent divorce, particularly men, and those struggling to rediscover their purpose.

Education and Professional Background

Hobbies & Fun Facts

I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s walking, bicycling, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, or camping.

When I’m not out in nature, you can find me cooking, woodworking, working on cars, diving into a good book, or writing.

I’ve been married for almost 15 years. We’re a blended family with four children. And I just became a grandpa for the first time in July 2024.
