Areas of Expertise:

In the whirlwind of life, do you often find yourself overwhelmed by a constant sense of worry or feeling weighed down by a heavy cloud of sadness? It's not uncommon to feel like you're trapped in a cycle of stress and low mood, especially when navigating the unique challenges that come with life these days. Do you struggle to find joy in the things you once loved, or do you feel like you're constantly on edge, unable to relax even in moments of peace? These feelings can be isolating, impacting not just you but also your relationships and overall well-being. But know this: you don't have to face these battles alone. Together, we can unpack the weight you carry, uncovering healthier ways to cope and finding a path forward toward greater peace and fulfillment.

Navigating life’s struggles can feel like an uphill battle, especially for those within military families. The unique challenges and stressors of military life can exacerbate these struggles, leaving individuals and their loved ones feeling overwhelmed and alone. As a therapist with a deep understanding of the intricacies of military life, I recognize the importance of providing tailored support to address these issues effectively. Whether you're grappling with anxiety, depression, or the complexities of military life, know that you're not alone, and there is hope for healing and resilience. Together, we can work through these challenges, providing you with the tools and support needed to find relief and regain a sense of balance and well-being.

As a systems therapist, I believe our lives are like big puzzles made up of family, culture, and experiences. I'm like a detective, helping you figure out how all these pieces fit together. We'll look at the roles you play in your life and decide what's helpful and what's not. I'm also a therapist who likes to keep things friendly and real—I might even crack a joke or two! This mix of professionalism and warmth creates a safe space where you can open up and explore your feelings. Together, we'll figure out how to make your life puzzle a little easier to solve, helping you feel stronger and more confident along the way.

What does Rachel love about being a therapist?

What I love most about being a therapist is the privilege of joining someone on their journey of growth and development. Being trusted to walk alongside them as they navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strength is incredibly rewarding. Witnessing their progress and seeing them overcome obstacles fills me with a profound sense of fulfillment. It's a privilege to play a role in helping individuals find clarity, resilience, and hope as they work towards becoming the best version of themselves.

How does Rachel see herself as a therapist?

As a therapist, I would describe myself as balanced. I am relaxed, yet directive; calm, yet energetic; professional, yet fun. I understand that therapists are not one-size-fits-all and support my clients in their decisions and what they feel is best for them. I take pride in honoring and normalizing that we are all human and perfectly imperfect.

What makes Rachel unique as a therapist?

What makes me unique as a therapist is my willingness to continuously learn and adapt to my clients' needs and desires. I bring creativity into my practice and focus on normalizing the thoughts and behaviors that make us human, even when these thoughts and behaviors make us feel isolated. I strive to ensure my clients are seen as individuals, not just numbers or "patients."

Education and Professional Background

I graduated from Regis University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and have received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Maiberger Institute in Boulder, CO. I'm passionate about integrating emotional and somatic regulation techniques into my therapeutic approach.

Hobbies & Fun Facts

As a Kentucky native (Go Cats!), I bring a touch of Southern charm to my Colorado lifestyle, having made the Rocky Mountains my home since 2016. When I'm not in the therapy room, you might find me indulging my passion for CrossFit, a love affair that began in 2013. But don't worry, I won't bore you with fitness talk—unless, of course, you're curious and want to chat about it!

What are clients saying?

Clients often share that they feel genuinely heard and supported during our sessions. They appreciate my ability to listen without judgment, which they find both helpful and encouraging. Many clients have also expressed that they notice significant progress within themselves over time.
