Do you feel like you want to make some changes but struggle with feeling stuck in your relationships? Do you feel like you continue to get caught up in the same old patterns of coping and it just isn’t working for you anymore? Or maybe you feel like life is paused because of something traumatic that happened and not sure where to begin? I offer support and a nonjudgmental space where we can begin to navigate the challenges you want to overcome. With unconditional acceptance and encouragement, I help you take an honest look to create new patterns of coping and interacting with others.
There is a lot of power in our thoughts and I can help assist you to change your thinking patterns so that you may be more in line with your goals of who you want to become. People can be resilient but at the same time may need some help overcoming barriers including a death of someone close, something traumatic, or a bad relationship.
I am here to help with sorting and processing through tricky emotions, thoughts, and relationships. Processing may include wanting to understand yourself, another person, or another situation further in order to know how to react and control. I am careful and intuitive to know when to listen and make sure someone feels understood and when they need to be pushed. Change is hard for everyone as it is unknown and new and it can oftentimes involve discomfort and emotional pain. I believe it so important to have the support of someone through that change, encouraging you, and helping direct you to truth.
My clients describe me as compassionate, direct, real, and responsive. I am often a more cognitive therapist which can help people feel grounded when they are making big decisions or dealing with stressful circumstances. My background is working with trauma survivors for 9 years, ranging from adolescents to the elderly. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Yoga and breathing techniques, EMDR, and Solution-Focused therapy in my work, depending on the client and their preferences. I am also able to offer NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) as an addition or as a part of counseling which is five sterile small needles in the ear that has been shown to help with cravings, depression, anxiety and trauma symptoms. I graduated from Denver Seminary and will gladly integrate faith if you are interested. I am a Colorado native, wife, and mother of two small children. I love to cook and bake, garden, and paint.
